Our application complies with Google’s Limited Use requirements for data obtained through Gmail and Workspace APIs. This means user data is only used to provide and improve core features specific to our application’s functionality.

Purpose of data use:
Briefing AM’s use of Gmail data obtained via the Gmail API is strictly limited to providing features directly related to user productivity, such as summarizing work-related emails (including meetings, tasks, and deadlines) into a daily briefing.

No generalized AI training:
We do not use Gmail data to develop, train, or improve any generalized AI or ML models.

No unauthorized sharing:
Gmail data is not transferred, sold, or shared with any third party.

Secure processing:
All processing of Gmail data is handled securely via encrypted channels, in full compliance with Google’s Limited Use Policy.

User control:
Users maintain full control of their data, including the ability to revoke access at any time through their Google Account.

When you sign up, we collect basic details like your name, email, and Apple ID (for login).

Location Data:

We use your location to provide real-time local updates like weather, traffic, and nearby events.

Calendar & Integrations:

If you connect your calendar, email, Slack, or task management tools (like Asana, Jira, or Linear), we access relevant event data and tasks — strictly to create your personal briefing.

News Preferences:

You can select interests like global affairs, finance, tech, and more. This helps us tailor your news briefings.
3. How We Use Your Information
We only use your data for one purpose: to deliver your personalized morning audio briefing.

Specifically, we use your data to:
1. Create your daily local, professional, and news briefings
2. Customize the content based on your schedule and preferences
3. Improve and personalize the app experience
4. How We Protect Your Information
Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We apply industry-standard security protocols to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration.
5. Who We Share Data With
We don’t sell your data — ever.  
We only process your data through large language models (LLMs) to generate personalized content like work briefs, but NEVER for training purposes. Any data processing is done with your explicit consent.

You are in full control of your data.

At any time, you can:
- Edit or delete your connected accounts and preferences
- Adjust or disable location access via your device settings
- Cancel your subscription and request deletion of your data
7. Data Retention
We retain your data only for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you cancel your account, your data will be securely deleted, usually within 30 days.

If you’re accessing BriefingAM from outside your home country, note that your data may be processed in the country where our servers are located. Regardless of where, your privacy is always protected under this policy.
